I'm back again! I have an interesting ring (or at least I think it's interesting!). Please do share your wisdom and knowledge if you have come across this before. Here are some basic features of the ring:

    - Stamped 925
    - Size U
    - 18.25 grams (gross)
    - Ring dimensions: 38 mm (length) × 30 mm (width)
    - Central Stone: Natural (I think?) ruby (cabochon cut) measuring approx. 8 × 7 mm
    - There are also four pairs of gem stones (each approx. 6 × 6 mm cabochons), being ruby, emerald, garnet, amber, and a grey stone (possibly moonstone?)

*My phone hasn't done a good job with the rubies as they almost appear as being amethysts, but are certainly rubies.

    Many thanks, in advance!

    Kind regards,
    Adam.

Nice design, very wearable. Which country did you find it in? The US maybe?
    Do they test as ruby?

I see moss agate on the side and what look like bloodstone and a garnet. It's possible the purple-ish stones are rubies, especially if the ring was made somewhere like India. They use lower grade rubies in settings like this. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if this was made India and exported elsewhere. The design is a spiderweb and may not be all that old; it was just meant for "cool" and "pretty" rather than any one design school.

Looks like a 90s goth spider web ring to me. I would expect real stones to have open backs, no?

    Yes.
Purchased in the UK, but from a collector with a wide collection of jewellery from the Middle East and South Asia.

With the 925 mark I don't think it's that old, not period Brutalist...but cool!

Cabochons normally have closed backs, the piece was also cast and not fabricated.

I've seen cabs with both open and closed backs.

It could have been made in South or SE Asia (Indonesia, Thailand), possibly after an earlier ring from a Western country.
I am not seeing mid-century, maybe 1980s-90s. Also, it isn't a collector's piece, but it is a fun ring to wear. As mirana said, there could be Goth interest.
