Sounds like home. One I go to has some high prices with an occasional big OOPS. I got to stalk the wily OOPS.

It is a shame with that thrift store. Many years ago it was packed with wonderful merch and prices were great. Then that management left and the people came in and wrecked it with junk at high prices.
I remember buying pink elephant mugs there (old management) so inexpensively and I could hardly wait to get home to list them.

I remember scoring a Chanel cuff here, and a D&E Easter egg bracelet and necklace. Takahashi birds too. The blind luck piece was a real Bergman bronze after they started sending anything good on line. These days though you're doing well to find a nice usable coffee mug.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

The antique and thrift stores around here tend to open at 10:00 a.m. I guess opening times vary in different areas.

Most shops around here open at 10:00. Many are closed mondays but open all weekend. Most stay open til 6:00 with shorter hours on Sundays Thrifts open by 9:00, though one opens at 8:30. The big ones stay open late to at least 7:00. Garage and estate sales open early and people line up even earlier.

These days, I am not much of an early person. Though I rise fairly early, I am not leaving the house for at least couple hours with coffee and quiet time. There is nothing I need worth waiting in line for a sale to open at 8:00. Otherwise, find that bargains can be found at any hour in the shops and thrifts. I may miss some things by not being at opening but will find something that they put out long after the early-birds have gone.

My selfish reason for wanting Antique Stores to open concurrently with Thrifts is to cram my picking expedition into a single continuous 'hit & run', then head on to home/yard projects before the millennium-long Oregon Winter rain begins.
If I was in Mall though,I'd want later opening hours and shorter shifts to pay for my space rent.

Only the big thrifts open at 9AM. The little guys where I find things open at 10 or 10:30, but are closed at 1:30 or 2.

Your experience and knowledge, Brad, means that there will be some goodies left that the young'uns know nothing about, but you DO! :D
