I was a huge cowboy movie fan when I was a kid. I thought he was quite handsome! The new movies just aren't as good. Great actor and amazing military career.

I have another poster on the way: The Keep from 1983! Great cult sci-fi movie.

I had an eBay gift card and the price was right!

    The latest poster pickup: Witness.

We were visiting Lancaster and we got to actually find the locations where Harrison Ford used the phone booth (still there) as well as the street where he beat that guy up.

thought i nailed an original star wars at a boot recently, looked oldish/used and zero modern dates to distinguish it from being a modernish one

just doesn't seem right though (has no real wow factor)

    so guessing a 90s 2000s repro

just naughty that there is nothing to mark that it isn't old

an expert could probably tell straight away though

Man I wouldn't even know where to start! I'd love any of these originals:

    1. TRON
    2. Star Wars eps 4 5 6
    3. Dracula or Frankenstein
    4. Alien or Aliens
    5. The Car

I have what I believe to be an original Raiders poster, even John Rhys-Davies (Sallah) claimed it was, but I'd love to have that confirmed!

probably my first ever film in many ways

certainly the first i became bewitched by and watched it again and again and........

still get the childhood wonder feeling when i watch it at christmas (tril always on)

realised that i wasn't a wussy either (face melting scenes :woot:)

Found an original 'Exorcist' 1 sheet out in the garage few months back. Only 'Star Wars' I've still got is an original (not repop) of the Star Wars on public radio.
I do have an original 1 sheet of Lucas' first film w/ Robert Duvall-'THX-1138'.
This is my fave S. Wars done by the great Drew Struzan & C. White (sold years ago)-

Not a movie poster, but an artist's proof by the master of movie posters, Saul Bass.
Framed and hanging on my wall.

I acquired this in 1986. It was published in a book called "A 24 Page book", published by the Type Director's Club.
    It measures 20x20".

Each page of the book features a different graphic designer, and Saul Bass designed page 6, hence the stylized number 6.
Signed in pencil. (Sorry about the glare from the flash)

haven't seen that one before (bloody good n all) but a bit too jokey looking?

didn't know the name either, but what a catalogue of work he's got

looks like he could just nail it

Charlie-Struzan really nails the actors likeness. S. Wars style 'D' is super nostalgic-like a postered wall from the 30's.
Stracci-Amazing book, great find. Bass' masterpiece IMHO is the poster he did for Hitchcock's 'Vertigo'.

He was so prolific. From logo design, over 40 movie titles, and movie posters... the man was a giant in graphic design.
The Hitchcock movie titles are really entertaining.

aha, that could be it, just doesn't fit the 'look' of star wars in general
like i said before its great and would have mass interest still

Exactly- It's a collaboration btw 2 artists ! I think they shared each other sketches & said-'Let's do a collage of our ideas-like an old poster plastered wall !'. It captures the 1930's-40's Buck Rogers/Flash Gordon look Lucas was going for. He also used old-timey cuts w/ the nostalgic 'diagonal wipe' edits he used.Fades one scene to the next like windshield wiper.
''Diagonal Wipe'-old film edit where a scene dissolves diagonally.
Unlike a dissolve (crossfade), which blends images by adjusting opacity, a wipe pushes one scene off-screen with a line or shape to reveal the next.''

PS-I think George Miller used this in the original Mad Max ?
