By that I mean apart from the very generic "abstract".
(These are prints.)There are gold and silver highlights. I'll post 3 pics of another picture by a different artist that is similar and also has the gold and silver highlights, some of which produce a rainbow effect at certain angles in the light. 20190526_105705.jpg 20190526_105746.jpg

I really didn't know what to make of them. I did think they'd look good on someone's wall (not mine - I don't like abstract art.)
They're both dated 1994, both pieces in series.
The first one is by Hansjörg Furrer, series called Movimento. The second series is Avalon, by one M. Mayer.
I was able to find out the artist is Maryjane Mayer and a Fulcrum Gallery in New Jersey sold a print of her "Avalon II", when or for how much I don't know.
I found out precisely nothing about the first artist.

After losing then re-doing the post I forgot to mention they aren't textural except for the metallic enamel (?) used.

Jivvy the research is my favorite

It's very hard to see what's going on in these, but it sounds like embellished prints?

Hmmm...there is a dimensionality, you can feel where the gold and silver are. As they're by different artists I thought this might be a "style". I really don't know much about art !:shame:

I find the three-dimensional aspect the most intriguing part of these 2.

Apart from being a sucker for gold and silver in general, I thought there was an interesting intensity and excitement to these prints, without them being so big they'd dominate a room (or wall). They're only 12 x 16 inches. I'll try and get better pics tomorrow - my eyes are shot for today.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

If it's a particular style, it's totally escaping me!!! But I LOVE the colors in them..... SO Bright an unique!!! Especially the TOP three!!:):):)

Three hours ago, I thought these were pretty awful.

Now I like them. The Movimento piece, anyway.

    Whats up with that??

Art has an attachment with Time and Space so it's OK (as far as I am concerned) to change the way one thinks about a piece. It's all about the process from ignorance to wisdom - Darkness to Light (yet Darkness isn't the opposite of Light - it's the absence of Light ... which is a process - and that's how we work ... so one hour we 'dislike' - the next hour we 'like' ... got headache - I'll stop now and take me pills!

Here's Avalon II, III & IV. How the light strikes makes a big difference.
Also whether it's daylight, incandescent or LED.

There you go ... Time and Space. Better still T/S is a continuum! In other words there is no such thing as a 'moment in Time and Space' ... we are unstoppable!!!
