BIG (approx 48" x 17"), limited edition book of prints/collotypes?

Can anyone tell me about this book because I can't find another example or mention of it?
It is large - approx. 48 x 17 - and has plates or prints in it from around the turn of the century.
It has a forward I believe is in Italian & I can tell its 1 of an edition of 500, I believe.
Any information would be greatly appreciated!

 

The text above THE COLLOTYPE TECHNIQUE tells you what it is. The title is 'Album des diverses localities formant les etablissemens industriels d'acide boracique fonds en Toscane (1818)' by Francesco de Larderel. Yours is a later reprint (1967 or later because of the five-digit postal code) published in an edition of 500 by Fratelli Alinari Stamperia D'Arte of Florence. Here's one to be found on eBay France: Item #186266463019.

"Fratelli Alinari, Florence, 1990. Facsimile of the Paris edition (circa 1851), produced using the ancient artisanal "collotype" process by the Fratelli Alinari Art Printing House, in a limited edition of 500 copies. Ours is copy no. CXIII. Maximum format 43 x 62 cm (binding) and 41.5 x 60.5 cm (plates). The first blank following the frontispiece bears the dedication "To the Illustrious Sir Cav. Avv. Anton Giuseppe Mochi. In token of esteem and friendship. Livorno 24 June 1857. Count Larderel", followed by the first plate with the portrait of the Count. Since this is a facsimile publication and therefore a reprint, we specify that the size of each plate respects that of the original plate and that the plates also show the same signs of yellowing as the originals. Leg. Made of brown canvas with the word "Album" printed in gold and embossed with brushstrokes. @journeymagazine ,"Esemplare n." means "Copy number" and after that, in your copy, are Roman numerals which I think are CVI (106). Could also be LVI (56), but I think 106 is much more likely. It looks more like a C than an L to me.

 

Here is a link to an Italian Wikipedia article about the author. It's in Italian, but should be easy enough to put the whole thing into a translator. Based on the topic of the book, it's interesting to me that there would be later reprints. Perhaps for people who worked in that industry?

[EDIT: Reading a little about the publisher, I see they are known for historic photographs. So probably the value of reprinting it would be for those interested in historical publications.]

I finally opened the book completely & looked through all the pages & prints (21) and it does have the same title page that's in the first photo in your link, so I think it is the same!
