    IMG_2664 (2).jpg IMG_2665 (1).jpg IMG_2667 (1).jpg IMG_2663 (2).jpg I found this really cool vase with a dragon around it. It's nicely made with lots of detail. I have not seen anything like it before. Does anyone have any information on it?
    Thanks! It's very heavy and about 10" tall.

    It looks quite like in this auction so maybe somewhere to begin.

    Fabulous vase, Gray.:woot::woot:

    I have never seen this combination before, but salt glazed stoneware is usually European or from a European influenced part of the world, and often from somewhere around the western border of Germany.
    That wonderful beast also looks traditional European rather than East Asian.

    Thank you for the info. I just thought he was something special. He has a little damage on his nose, but otherwise in good condition.

    I’ve never seen a stoneware piece with a big beast handle like this either. Very cool and different. I’ve seen lots of porcelain vessels with dragons and whatnot wrapped around them, never stoneware. One of my favorite things I own is a little bronze jar with a lizard wrapped around it. I guess serpentine like or reptiley creatures just naturally work well around rounded vessels.
