This is the first of how many anticipated sales Brad?

I don't collect old cars and trucks, and it's a good thing, because those pictures are enough to send any collector into fits.

You can't possibly give us too many details on this. Absolutely fascinating! Like opening a time vault!

Gotta love that tall blue and purple chair. :wideyed::woot:

This is the first of about 5 sales. John collected for 60 years and never sold a thing. I knew him for 35 years. We have rented a former bank for 6 months to handle this. It is estimated that there are a million items in the estate. Most has not seen the light of day as of yet. There are many hundreds of boxes to be opened yet (No exaggeration). I chronicled the process of getting ready behind our general discussion firewall. If you are a member, you can see that discussion.

Items will be priced with bids taken the first two days on more expensive items. The last day will be half off. I will be working the sale.

I love that purple and blue chair too. Who made it?

That sounds like a good way to price things.

I don't suppose you can take pictures during the sale?:eek::)

Are they letting helpers buy things? You don't have to answer, just post a winking emoji.

I see some baking tube pans. They never go out of style and were made better than the one's currently made.

Not sure who made the chair. Has a label of a company I had never heard of and can't remember now. Someone thought an Adrian Pearsall design but probably a knock-off.

I am sure that I will have some opportunity to buy but have not seen anything I am crazy for. Hope to end up with a work of art when all is said and done.

John was the artist for most of this. A few done by his contemporaries. All done in the 60s.

Did he paint the large picture of the children looking out the door at the tricycles? What an unusual painting!

I looked thru all the pictures (excellent photos!). I would buy all the mid century modern pottery pieces and the Charlie McCarthy radio. I am glad I don't live close enough to drive or I would be the first in line!
