Featured Old Staffordshire ?

    Found this in the wild of East Portland, and even though it was bashed, for $6 I thought our UK friends might get a kick out of it !
    Judging by the crackle on it, I'm thinking it could be 19th century ?
    PS-Just wanted to share (may donate to a fave thrift).We actually don't see much of this stuff out here (least I don't).

    yeah i think so buddy, crazing can be a good thing and a bad thing with staffordshire, but this looks natural (not darkened)

    the gilding looks dark/darkened gold which it should de compared with repros

    the little birdies a nice touch as well

    usually the early ones are the sharpest/finest, then slowly decreased in quality as the same moulds were reused

    id put this mid to late 19th c, theres another example of yours maybe a little finer, so maybe a little earlier

    Thanks for the FB Charlie-I thought it was older but you never know ? I'd imagine there's gobs of repros over in the UK.

    oh yeah.......might have even bought one or two when starting out :bag:

    i would definitely put yours in the 19th century, but couldn't pinpoint.
    i used to have a good link somewhere where you can pinpoint by colours/glaze etc

    will try and dig out for ya

    I was thinking more continental. German perhaps? The clobber should give it away but I know nish about that.

    Chin-I know nothin' about UK ceramics,but the internerds say this was produced by the Thomas Parr factory in Staffordshire, England (?).
