Is this a Charles Limbert Shelf?

Dear Community, Again, from my inherited collection, a friend said this is a Charles Limbert Shelf. Thoughts? Wood type? Era? It slants inward: the top shelf is 15" and the bottom is 18". Thank you!!! I'm not selling anything. I'm getting it all refurbished to live with it all for the next 50 years.

Appears to be a #300 Limbert magazine stand. You might compare your dimensions to this one. Any major deviations in dimensions would likely indicate it is not by Limbert.

Please do not refinish any Arts and Crafts period furniture. It will devalue it. I wouldn't do anything beyond cleaning and a coat of paste wax. If it has significant damage or has already been refinished, a sensitive restoration would be helpful.

Ditto re refinishing. IMHO, refinishing destroys the integrity of a piece, which is demonstrated by the honest wear it's received over time.

Thank you, Deborah. Thank you, Brad. The magazine stand dimensions are exact to the link you sent. I appreciate your input re. restoration. Unfortunately, all of the 12 pieces I inherited were in various states of damage from the 2022 to 2023 California floods that destroyed the home they were in. Restoration is needed and I'm working with a really good wood worker. I am quite sensitive to the natural beauty of the wood. At this point, perceived value isn't as important as beauty and preservation. I will soon post photos of the what I think are a Stickley and a pair of J.M. Young chairs. I really appreciate your comments.

I understand. Thank you for that. Being new here, I just saw in my inbox that it is important to post an introduction so I just did that. I appreciate your feedback.

Hi Brad, Check out what I found on the underside of the magazine stand. I had never seen it before. In dark light, it just looks like scratches.

There you go! One of my more memorable buys, was a Limbert rocker from an antique shop for $45.00. The dealer had missed the branded mark under the arm. I did not

Agree that this stand does not need refinishing.

Very nice piece. Question; Are the shelves attached with screws or dowels ? It's hard to tell from photo. The Arts & Crafts tradition would think dowels are the way to go, or a mortise tenon joining. I realize this is not always the case and it tends to be the upper tier furniture that exclusively did the premium joining methods. PS; most all period furniture collectors would never refinish
a piece such as this which has a very presentable finish as it stands.
