Hi, I have a set of pewter cruets that appear to be old. They appear to be old. Marked on the bottom, it says: Made in France. There is a maker's mark of "A R" with what appears to be a tree in the middle. Can anyone tell me anything about these marks? Thanks!

@MrsPerrysMusicClass, would you be kind enough to post a photograph of the pieces themselves?

You don't provide measurements but... There appears to be an identical one listed on eBay. (No. 365912322535.) Seller has no additional information.

I did see those, but they don't seem to know, either. I'm still trying to figure out the maker, though, as well as the age. I appreciate your help, here.

Apologies as this isn't as helpful as I'd like but wanted you to know I tried.

I have looked in the two pewter marks books that could be helpful but no success on the mark. One book is all in French, "Poinçons d"Etain" and I don't think there is anything in there helpful but I have very poor French. The other book "Pewter Marks of the World" didn't seem to have anything either.

I think that the "Made In France" mark in English will mean it's not terribly old. How old, I'm not sure and hopefully someone will know more. Googling I found suggestions that it would be 1920 or later but I can't document that.

I found two listings that make me think the letters on the mark "might" be A B.
