Featured large costume necklace

.......anyone have any thoughts to this large costume piece

looking for helpful keywords really as thinking maker could be tricky

does it sum up a style, movement etc

any help would be super

 

Lovely and chunky, Art Deco inspired. Could have been made in India, but not entirely sure.
Google Jakob Bengel necklaces for a probable inspiration.

the coiled end one (dislike) and clasp made me think india as well so definitely a possibility

 

The clasp jumps up and down and screams India. It's pure costume, and probably dates from between the late 80s and last week. If I were guessing I'd say late 80s to early 90s.

wonder if one got damaged, as i can't see anybody making it like that and feeling happy with the inbalance (though i still didn't notice till you said)

i'd love to see a video of me trying to straighten it out like that in the 2nd pic with a slightly confused look on my face

(a bit like a neanderthal trying to get a lighter to work)

 

It may have been done deliberately for some reason. Just don't ask me why.
