The reagent shows something incomprehensible. Tell me if this bracelet could be gold. IMG_2122.jpg IMG_2096.jpg IMG_2100.jpg IMG_2110.jpg IMG_2112.jpg IMG_2117.jpg

Have you had it tested? I test everything I get now after Mexican bogus silver marks and a gold ring marked 14K that was costume!

Very pretty, but I would be very surprised if it were solid gold. Enlarging the photos shows tiny bits of excess material, a wastefulness not generally seen with gold. Also, this detail from your last pic looks like a place where plating was lost or never applied:

More my gestalt than anything, not a definitive conclusion. What result did you get when you tested?

The reagent is acting strangely. Sometimes it shows 18k and sometimes it shows that it is not gold.

The soldering spot has black metal. Another photo where there is a cut. IMG_2130.jpg IMG_2127.jpg IMG_2124.jpg

This is not a coating. The metal is homogeneous.

    It is a nice bracelet.:)
    Agree.
That is not unusual for ethnic gold or gold plated.
I see two tiny silvery spots in that photo:

My guess is that it is thickly goldplated silver.

Seconded, silver plus 18k acid yields a funny-looking result. The metal scraped on a black "stone" goes blue/white and "curdles" up. Brass just goes away. I use 18k acid to stone test silver in preference to silver acid.

I forgot about silver. I'll try the reagent. Maybe.

The reagent did not detect silver. The cut is deep, the metal is the same color. IMG_2140.jpg IMG_2143.jpg

Can you have it tested by a jeweller, just to be sure?

Yes. One checked and was ready to buy. The other also wanted to buy but then clarified and had doubts.

If the offer was good, you could sell it to that first jeweller.;)

I can't do that. I want to find out definitively and without error. Well, it will be an experience for the future. I'll go to someone else. :)

Yes, if you are not sure, have it tested by more than one. We can't tell from photos, it is something you have to test.
