I just got this Loetz Medici vase from an estate sale for $50, mislabeled as “vintage decorative vase”. Out of all Loetz patterns Medici is my favorite, and I can’t believe I have one now. Measures 5.5” tall x 2.5” wide

My dad was from Maplewood, mom was from Elizabeth, and my Jersey first cousins were in Union. Me...I was raised in central Connecticut.

My dad was born in Hoboken but I actually grew up on Long Island, my mom’s from Mastic. I moved to NJ when I was 11 but I still miss all the beaches, especially Smith Point. It was also crazy seeing a bear for the first time, LI really doesn’t have many predators

My dad had friends in Hoboken. Here, bears are fairly common. Saw a baby go scooting though the yard once. There are wetlands behind the house, and Mama was probably back there holding dinner.

First time I ever saw one was when a mama and her cubs decided to rip apart our lunch bags at summer camp. RIP my sandwich.

Better than RIP YOU. Best to let Mama do her thing when she has babies around.

great score @aginghoopsters :) looking at the base photo, looks like it might have something written on the edge of the base? Maybe numbers?
