PLTE1.jpg PLTE2 CROP ED.jpg PLTE3.jpg PLTE4.jpg PLTE7.jpg Just found this 9 3/4" pierced damaged plate and am looking to ID it.Depicts a European fishing scene and seems to have some age. The logo on the back looks like a heart or an upside-down spade shape (ie: suite of cards) w/ initials inside.
Two holes in the rim for hanging.
Thanks all for the help !

European Chinoiserie imo, could be British. The letters look Cyrillic, but that could be due to the flow effect.

That was my first feeling AJ (or some kind of Chinese Export piece, but the backmark looks Euro ?).

    I’d say British.
    Mark is familiar too.

Yep, the scene looks UK to me too. Any decently navigable ceramic databases to research 'heart-shape' or 'trump suit (low case 't') shape' logos, marks, back stamps ?

Transferware. Much like willow pattern transferware.

Maybe P R Co or B R Co? Looks like "Co." was reversed on the backstamp. I think British, too, and maybe the FaceBook transferware group can identify it. Not the most sophisticated Chinoiserie scene.

The "o" is on the wrong side of the backwards "C"... and the "C" seems to have legs.

Yep-It's mighty folk arty.Dang thing about 'primitivism' is it doesn't always connote age (or great age).
'...maybe the FaceBook transferware group can ID it' -yes

That's a star on top of the heart, if it helps. It looks like BR to me too.

If that's a C and it's backwards, the O is still on the correct side for Co. That's very odd, and maybe suspicious? And why would the C be backwards while the letters above it do not appear to be?

AJ speculated it might be Cyrillic-def a bit of a mystery piece ?

I didn't. I said it looked like Cyrillic, possibly due to the flow effect, but this was after I said it could be British:
    ;)
I still think it is most likely British.
