Featured Black&white 30s vase (unmarked)

    Hi Folks

    something else i picked up the other day

    no marks what so ever.......but thought quite an interesting look

    kinda inbetween periods ?

    it looks 20s 30s to me, but not sure

    not quite sure where to put it (as it style/period)

    successionist ?,.........doesn't seem quite right, but i wanna say it

    any help appreciated

    I would have said more 50's

    quite similar actually but this reminds me more of cigarette smoke

    Brush Pottery did a design commonly called cobweb. The bottom is wrong for Brush, though (and McCoy, unfortunately). This looks closer to porcelain than pottery. A lovely, classic style vase. Really difficult to pin down time frame as the decoration is not unique to any specific period.

    totally agree, the shape is leaning towards older but decoration shows a different flare

    not a particularly fine porcelain as well ( if you look at the top) but definitely interesting

    I don't know either term in connection with ceramics, but had to wonder if it might be secessionist?

    I think that’s Japanese. Forties into fifties. Shape is nouveau but colour and decoration is very festival of Britain.

    It is not Secessionist, but it is definitely successionist.:playful: As in, a great succes as an elegant vase.:)
