The main body is made of metal, but the front part is made of silver. Could someone help me identify its origin?

I would be delighted to see the entire piece in one photo, instead of parts of it. When I opened this thread, I instantly thought "wick trimmer". Could it be both trimmer and snuffer in one tool? We have many silver experts here who will surely recognize the marks.

Only the front part with marks is made up of silver. The rest of the piece is made up of some metal

I tried using it to snuff out a candle wick. It seems to work. Any ideas about the silver marks?

Well is it’s a very nice/fancy looking thing. Definitely now think it’s a special wick timmer (however I have now knowledge of these things)
