I'm quite enamored with this sculpture. Sitting under a dramatic light it alternates between comically absurd and downright sinister (well, to me at least :D ).

It's a long shot, but any help with who D. Long is will be greatly appreciated.

9" tall (23cm), sitting on a Chinese ink stone as a makeshift plinth

    Found in Portland Oregon USA

Yeah, how I 'see' it shifts from time to time and angle to angle. It sorta defies a consistent way of seeing it, which is exactly what I want it to do.

A nose... yeah, makes sense. And a comic ghost too--- that was what I first saw. A whole face with a gigantic sarcastic mouth too.... and like I said, sometimes a grotesque distortion....

I think it works better without the two circular holes at the top. Wonder if it could have been an assignment in a sculpture class, or by someone inspired by Barbara Hepworth's perforations with the addition of asymmetrical curves. (I did a similar abstract piece in clay which my mother really liked.)

Love it Pott- Reminiscent of Henry Moore and Hepworth, would've lasted about 3 seconds outside of my bag !
    PS-Love it's humor.
