Not even 2 1/2 inches tall. Saint Pantaleon is pictured and named. When would you imagine it was made and where? If someone told me they had proof it was made in 1790 I’d buy that, and if another person had proof it was made in 1925 I’d believe that too. I’d guess 1880-1940 somewhere but I really don’t know. Italian, French, Spanish? Can’t recall where it came from but it’s a neat little piece. 4F97EC0E-E023-4ADF-8705-66889CED6B1C.jpeg 1DCF4AF4-8664-4131-A02C-E59F58FAC262.jpeg C3918FD1-8DA8-4F1B-8F4E-25AB4696FB24.jpeg

The way it's written, it could be a souvenir from one of those countries, as ...
In Italy it would be S. Pantaleone
    In Spain S. Pantaleón
    And in France St. Pantaléon
    But ...
With the blonde hair, I wonder if it could be German (there's a Church of St. Pantaleon in Cologne), like this engraving
    upload_2025-11-30_3-57-40.png
I don't think they would depict him with blonde hair in the other 3 countries.

The long blonde hair struck me as being interesting and possibly a clue as well. I forgot to mention that. I think souvenir is likely too. German didn’t enter my mind in regards to blonde hair but that’s clever thinking. As is the different ways the name would be slightly different per different origins.

Edit: I hadn’t seen that German depiction in my search. Also a great clue.

I get a Spanish/Portuguese vibe from it. The Yellow accents make me think that . BWDIK? Just my feeling about it

Which countries would abbreviate 'saint' in the masculine form as 'St'? Isn't German 'heilige', holy? Of the likely countries, only France would call him Saint Pantaleon.

I'm going to vote Germany. And, given size, a religious establishment that's a pilgrimage site.

Here's a similar depiction from the St. Blasius Church in Glottertal.

If not that one, Wiki lists others:

    France
In France, he was depicted in a window in Chartres Cathedral.[5] In southern France there are six communes under the protective name of Saint-Pantaléon. Though there are individual churches consecrated to him elsewhere, there are no communes named for him in the north or northwest of France. The six are:

If the depiction of him with nailed hands is specific to Germany, I would have to concur on that. The legend Wiki gives sets out all the ways he couldn't be destroyed. Blond hair also seems to be a departure from the mainstream.

Note that the 15th century German woodcut (not an engraving) in Marote's reply uses "ST," probably as an abbreviation for Sanctus. (Latin was used anywhere in western Christianity.) S is the more frequent abbreviation, but I think SC & ST also occur. If the woodcut was a pilgrim image, could the image on the jug be a more modern version of the woodcut image? Copied and altered over the centuries but retaining the "ST."
St. Pantaleon is one of the 14 Holy Helpers. (I love the church in Kӧln. Hmm... does this text program not allow umlauts?)

Fwiw, I get a French vibe.
German Sankt, abbreviation St. He is a Heilige, but is usually referred to as Sankt.
Dutch sint, abbreviation St. Again, he is a heilige (different pronunciation from German) but we generally say sint Pantaleon - St Pantaleon when referring to him.

And since St Pantaleon was Romanian: sfânt, abbreviation St.:playful:
His Romanian origin could also account for his depiction with fair hair, which seems to be the usual depiction of Pantaleon.

Type " and then o, like this: ö.:)

Also works with other vowels: ë (used a lot in Dutch), ï, ü, ä, ÿ.

    ...not working for me...?

(Googled... for that method to work, one needs a Windows keyboard set to "United States-International. I've got a Mac. The easiest way, supposedly for both Macs and Windows, it to hold down the o key, then options will pop up... ö ò ó ô ǒ œ ø õ ō. Works for other letters, too. So simple yet I never knew this, thanks for prompting me to learn something new!)

Other method that can be used with Mac (according to the www):

    - Option button +U, then u, for ü

    - Option button +U, then a, for ä

    - Option button +U, then o, for ö

    - Option button +U, then e, for ë
