a few things i picked up from the thrifts on thursday...chirpy think i like that strange blue tinted glass the best (made in italy mark under) figure thinking republic ish (china impressed stamp) unusual match striker ? costume brooch oh and a handheld karaoke microphone (that was supposed to be a present for someone..... but its quite good(Fun) though...... and some other b & ps
forgot about the painting...........would be surprised if it wasn't an amateur/college type piece......but mad enough to buy " do you mean the painting or you charlie?"
....on the Scottish front........a new (very unexpected) episode of two doors down this years after the death of one of its creators so..........christmas this year.......made
Nice finds, charlie. This type of brooch usually has real jade and coral, and this looks the real deal too. Not David Tennant imo, but another actor. Can't think who now, but I'm sure someone will recognize him.
Agree with AJ that the brooch may be a very nice find if you paid a costume price. According to the orientation of the pin on the back, it was designed to go this way: I thought the painting was Frankenstein's monster in a suit. I would have called the blue stemware sundae glasses. I think of parfait glasses as being shaped more like champagne glasses, with a narrower, taller bowl.
i think thats what my ex girlfiends father called me when i came to pick her up for the prom the only other person i can think of is the singer from the damned ......problem being though............doesn't look anything like him
Brooch may not be gold, though, there were several UK companies who set coral and jade in costume settings, with that filigree too. I've got some (susprise. Not.) Worth testing though. Orange vases are Empoli. Blue sundaes fairly recent, I've forgotten who. That oxblood looking cylinder thing is old and Chinese. As an aside, last Sunday, nine carat gold studs. Two quid.
I don't expect it is, although it is a thought to check. Like you, I have seen these as costume but with genuine jade and coral.
