    Hello friends,

Recently bought a Danish book from 1884 consisting of 230 Gustave engravings made by the likes of Pannemaker which were printed in the book using an electrotype plate it seems.

Are these considered to be merely cheap reproductions or what is the general view of electrotype prints like these?

I don't intend to break the book apart and sell 230 pieces for profit but would just like to know more about the process and historical value/significane (if any).

Some additional pictures of the engravings themselves.

If my reading (i.e. decoding) of the writing is correct, they're all illustrations of Bible stories. Not the biggest sellers now, unfortuately, no matter the format.
