Hello! No markings on these ones, hoping to figure out the age and origin. The milk/creamer is 7.5"H, the sugar 7"H. I've seen similar that are French, Russian and German- so I'm hoping someone more knowledgeable can help me. Both in pretty good condition, small hairline on the sugar and the lid finial has a small chunk out of it. Thanks all!

Oh yes, that is similar! So tricky when there are no markings. Do you think they are as old as the British version shown? Late 18th century?

It’s British. The gilding looks dead right to me. Wouldn’t surprise me if it’s late eighteenth.

Hello all, thanks for your input! I also shared in a British pottery and porcelain group on Facebook to narrow down a possible maker and the consensus was French- Paris porcelain, likely Napoleon I.

Did they say why they thought French?

It is hard to tell from photographs but Continental China will be whiter in colour and British slightly creamier -- difference in paste composition I believe. I do find the gilding style to be Continental. As for shapes, early china shapes copied those of silver wares, so similar shapes can be found in different factories productions

I find the decoration on the neck of the creamer really curious. Is the other side the mirror image of the side shown?

The gold stars put me in mind of the ceiling of the Sainte-Chapelle.

I thought so too, but maybe because there seemed to be a consensus & they didn't want to give it any more space? Making it up as I go along.

Here are a few more pics (apologies, I didn't take one of the neck straight on but yes the decoration is a mirror image of the other side)

I hate it when admins do that. At least let people comment. Was it the Potty group?
