And .... another item I bought today...

According to google lens, this depicts the battle between Ruslan and Rogday (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruslan_and_Ludmila)

    The box included this

does this indeed belong to the box? I think the answer is in the 2nd line, but I'm unable to read the handwritten part

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Yes, that is what it says, painted in Russian on the top of the box.

The tag also appears to have Рогдай (Rogday) written in pencil in the subject line (second line you were asking about). The first part is too faded for me to read. But does match up well enough on the tag to indicate that it does go with the box.

Just to say that all above is right - the box is from Мстёра and is original hand painted USSR item that depicts the battle between Ruslan and Rodgay from the Russian legend about Ruslan and Lyudmila.
There were items marked in English in USSR, usually the ones made for export. And the paper tag is completely eligible, too, and belongs to the box. On the second line it reads "Сюжет: бой с Рогдаем" (as far as I can see) which means "Plot/story/subject: the Battle with Rogday"
