    Hi dear Members,

I hope you all enjoy your weekend:)

I just bought this ring and would like to ask if it is Etruscan Revival, or not?

It is 19,2k Portuguese gold ring with a centre Citrine stone (10mm x 8mm) and small turquoise cabochons around. It is hallmarked at the back of the band for gold purity and, if my eyes don't lie me, the hallmark is the one used before 1938, the second hallmark I can't read (maybe maker's mark).
But what I noticed is that the band was enlarged at some point, because in the centre there is a segment where gold differs in colour.

As always, I will be grateful for all comments and thoughts:joyful:

It isn't.;) But it is a stunning ring, and I thought it looked Portuguese when I saw it. They have a special style, and often use citrine.
    Really nice find, congratulations.:)

Those ornaments on band and turquoise setting confused me:shy:, but thank you for the hint;)

If it echos an earlier time, I would think the opulence of the Renaissance. Definitely not Etruscan. Quite a ring. Is it something you will wear?

Quite a ring indeed!:D I bought it for resale purpose, but I never buy pieces which I would not wear by myself. I love statement rings with large stones, so I would love to wear it:rolleyes:

I thought Renaissance Revival right off of the bat. I'd cheerfully wear it if i had it.

It looks lovely on the hand. The only concern I would have, if it were mine to wear, is the projecting turquoises. I see the possibility that they could be damaged with an unlucky swing of the hand, or themselves do mischief by getting snagged on something. But not a ring for casual wear. :)

I understand, I think it all depends on how it feels on your hand. I feel comfortable wearing it, I don't feel any ‘dangerous corners’ or fragile areas that could catch on something.
I agree that this ring is not for everyday wear, but it stands out so much that I couldn't pass it by:shame:

The position of the turquoises reminds me of Sputnik rings, but it does fit in with the Art Deco esthetic of the era.

The band reminds me of 18th century rings, like on my Georgian Revival ring:
