Visited my house clearance guy in Earlstown a few weeks ago and he was running quite thin on porcelain. He had an eclectic mix of clothes, kitchenalia and treen, so I grabbed what I could to try and pay for my train fare.

Ohe of the items was this wooden dish tray thing. Nice and curvy with pointy bits. There is an insignia in the middle. Anyone got any ideas please? Looks like mid century..I can imagine it sat next to my uncles bang and Olufsen beomaster.

These typically came from the Philippines. Made of monkey pod. A Google Images search will bring up similars. Early 1970s.

Here in Europe they usually came from Thailand, 1960s-70s. For nuts and other munchies. I think I still have one.

Maybe owned by someone from the ATL? You know, Hotlanta? Probably not but it’s the first thing I saw. 1AE606BB-E3B8-4080-B5F9-5A9D446E04E4.jpeg

Formerly the property of Big Boi, or perhaps André 3000? D1C4E47A-6FAA-425A-882D-F0BA10990CA6.jpeg

Edit: Antiques and hip hop may not go to together like peanut butter and chocolate but for what it’s worth the above is one of the greatest hip hop albums of all time IMO. If anyone here appreciates alternative hip hop and doesn’t know it, checkity check it. My tastes are wide but when I first got into mind expansion in high school, this album blew my newly expanded mind.

That song is crazy. One of the most frenetic/frantic songs I can imagine. Love it and hey ya. All Outkast was good Outkast but my favorites go in a straight line from the start of their major label output to the end of it. Although Aquemini was the first one I had, so it holds a special place. Here’s some my favs from ATLiens. They were about 19-20 when they wrote these songs. Pretty creative and interesting songs for very young men relative to the standard hip hop output of the day. Warning: explicit lyrics.
