Featured Cutter and Metal Restoration Qs

I have carried plenty of dodgy loads on my push bike but never any switch blades.

 

If I remember my saws correctly, they're designed to cut in both directions, both pushed and pulled. I'm not sure if that's so of the one man crosscut, more likely those cut on the pull, but the long 2 handled, 2 man saws cut both ways.

 

Used a 2 person saw once at Girl Scout camp & it was a lot of fun, but we didn't have to saw up a whole log into sections. It did seem to cut in both directions.

 

The first items appears to be a herb and vegetable cutter. These are still used quite a bit here, though they usually have a slightly curved cutting edge.

The saw appears to be a blacksmith made log saw, and by the looks of it, a very effective one too. The spacing of the teeth are designed to cast out as much of the dust as possible to improve the cutting efficiency.

It is a bench scraper, it has many uses depending on the edge. If you don’t use it often olive oil is no longer recommended it can actually go rancid.
