Featured Cranberry and Clear Glass Ashtray with Spin Mechanism - Maker?

Hello Fellow Board Folk! Would anyone have a lead as to the maker of this ashtray? It measures about 6" across and about 5 1/8" with the top on. When you push down on the lever the metal plate spins as it drops. I think the metal is chrome. It's very heavy and does not ring when tapped. Any help as to the who, what, when, where would be very much appreciated. Thank you!

That's much nicer than the normal push and spin ashtrays (there is a name for this type and I can't think of it right now - sorry).
Time period 1960-70s.
Nice glass, good chance it is imported. Possibly Italy. Just a guess.

 

I bet the glass is Bohemian/Czech with the top added by the importer. (Egbor?)

What the heck is the "spin mechanism" for? (Former smoker here, but I don't remember one of these at all.)

 

The spin mechanism caused the ashes to fly off the chrome and into the glass chamber below. I smoked at one time but I'm not sure I ever remember using one so I can't say how well they worked. I have my suspicions that butts got caught between the edge of the wheel and the side of the glass. I'm also afraid if you spun it too hard you risked having ashes fly all over the place. Sure looks pretty, though, and it's a nice conversation piece.

My dad had one back in the 1960s.
The centrifugal force from pushing down spins the butts and ashes into the bottom. And yes at times the butts get caught, you just push down again.

In trying to find another, I think that these might still be made and imported from Germany. Glass could be German. Which would make sense, as I don't remember the originals being so nice. More metal.
Called a Spin ashtray. Thought they had another name though.

I remember those spinning ashtrays. I am not sure where I saw them, but it jogged my memory. The one's I saw were not as lovely as yours. I never smoked, but always thought it looked cool. Only had candy cigs.

 

the buts only got caught as the bowl filled up.....like most things , if you kept it clean...it worked like it's supposed to...

Sorry not to have responded sooner, INH. Mine does not have the same mark as the example you found but thank you so much for posting it. The bottom on mine seems different too. Maybe mine is simpler version or perhaps a copy.
