    Hello,

I deal mostly with coins on Cointalk, not sure if the sites are related. But I need help.

I have some monogrammed silver forks - R Wallace Irving dinner forks 7 1/2 inch and I cannot read the letters so I am hoping someone could help tell what the letters are?

I attached a photo of the monogram.

    Thank you!

Right side up - the person eating with it would see this... KMG? Pretty. Welcome, @Bill Avery :) downloadfile_1573110847826.jpg

Replacements.com calls the pattern "Old Atlanta"

I THINK, but IDing flatware patterns isn't my best skill...

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Welcome to Antiquers, @Bill Avery ! I agree with @scoutshouse on the initials. Looks like KMG. Those would be the initials of a previous owner, of course.

Welcome! I like those round shiny discs of precious metals, called coins too.

First, maiden and married name likely. Set may even have been a wedding gift.

This design was originally issued in 1899 under the name Irving. In 1975 it was reissued as Old Atlanta/ So both names apply, but are more accurately ascribed based on the maker's mark, which is likely different in 1975 than it was in 1899.

Irving was the first thing that popped up, but I wondered... Never mind!

    Thanks bakers.

I'm seeing "KMG" for the monogram, too.

Thank you all! I now see it. KMG. It was the angle of the writing that was throwing me off.

Now I have to ask my wife who KMG was! (or I guess it would have been KGM as First, Middle, Last?) Doesn't fit any family names beginning with M that I know of, but we'll see.

Thank you all again! And I am sure I will have more questions in the future, and hope to contribute with answers as well!

There were 6, now there are 4 left (2 were bought in the past few days). I think they are dinner forks. I have them for sale on eBay because we don't need them. But buyers were asking me details about the monogram, so I wanted to know if someone could help me with that.

I was just thinking that your wife may not know who they're from ...if they were not passed down by family...or bought into the family from somewhere else....
    Just sayin..;)
