Featured Glaze & a Half ........................................................A/s 5

Hi Folks

Picked up this recently based purely on the glaze in an antique shop
i did have rose tinted glasses on so its looked even more spectacular

don't think its a cup with that top flat rim, unmarked as well

gorgeous glaze though (one of the nicest i've seen)

It looks spectacular without rose tinted glasses too.
Looks Belgian to me. They are glaze wizards.

 

thanks Aj, that does seem to ring true, especially with other belgian glazes i've had before

they always seem to get lost in the mix (belgian pieces) i suppose not ever having a strong mark or id doesn't help that matter

 

thinking maybe a spill or match holder because of that rim

very pretty......about the size of a restaurant coffee mug..?

 

yeah i don't think it is a cup bud, the lip/rim is dead flat, a cup would be rounded i reckon, but yeah about that size

 

ya , but the handle...... being oversized for the mug itself , suggests for drinking...

It's a cup even with a flat edged rim. Looks hand-thrown. Lovely glaze.

 

i was gonna argue it wasn't a cup, then held it to my lippy poos........and its probably a cup

 

What beverage did you slurp from it? Looks to be inspired by blood stone colours perhaps.

 

Jägermeister actually tonight maybe buddy, ive gone back to a saturday night treat to let off some steam (was beginning to boil over without it )

 

Oooo liquid marzipan. Not had any for years. Slippery slope. It's very hard to keep it as a one off treat without going back to drinking regularly. I started with one drink before bed time to wind down and you can guess the rest...
