I have an 'old' 6" by 3 1/2" photo of a female nude, tastefully depicted with a string of beads linking her to a small Asian statue or figurine. There is nothing prurient, imo, about any aspect of the scene, but probably in its day it would have been considered on the speedy side of racy. The issue isn't about full-frontal, as only her breasts are visible...along with a saucy expression on her face. Her hair style is seriously dated, 'tho I cannot place it except in early 20th C...maybe. It's a curious piece of graphic art, professionally done in sepia tone, very fine-grained.

I'll show it here after a mod responds that it would be appropriate.
I'm interested in its history an' period, as well as members' commentary about what it may represent.

Thank you for considering my request...
    EDIT: Here she is...

This I gotta see; like women with an attiude. I bet none of the guys in here would have any objection, and most females are like me. We're curious.

Pretty girl and a perfect body, that alone is art. No idea what she is doing with the Buddha statue, but the photo was clearly taken by a good photographer who knew a thing or two about lighting.

Is it just due to the light and/or the photo colour (or maybe just a bad eyesight), or is her face white? (going for geisha-ish look?)

It looks white to me too.

It does to me, too. More like makeup than lighting. Is the hair-style right for geisha? That might be a clue.

No it is much too plain, and she doesn't have the opulent hair jewellery of a Geisha.

There is just the slightest suggestion of that in the copy I have (her face is half the size of a US dime)...I can see where you may be on to something previously unnoticed. But...the overall theme, as well as the era an' region where created, argue against that imo. Thanks!

Have you tried covering up the wholly offensive appendages then trying a googke image search. Might work. Might refuse to search on the grounds of it being a person as well though. 'Google searches of people are limited on privacy grounds'. Worth a try though
