Have really been remiss at photographing. However, this is one of my better finds I photographed in the store before buying. I bought this Pittsburgh Snowbound lamp the early part of January from another dealer in our shop. Marked down to half price so only $67.50!

I finally got out a bit this week antiquing. No great finds, but a story. Hubby took me antiquing today for Valentine's Day. He hates it, but he went to an Amish market after dropping me off. I had fun, again,no great finds. We were getting ready to leave, and he was waiting in the car. I ventured into a jewelry store, was buying some small items, then I spotted this. I have been looking for an enhancer for my engagement ring since I got it. This was one piece, but the jeweler separated it to sell the top and bottom separately. I tried it on, and it fit the solitaire perfectly (my solitaire is hard to fit). I sent him a picture, and he came in. The last piece of jewelry he bought me was in 2013 in Vegas because he says I have enough jewelry.
Well, he liked it so much he did buy it for me. I am so happy. I will get to posting my Lumii_20260214_174206464.jpg Lumii_20260214_174207053.jpg Lumii_20260214_174206943.jpg finds later this week.

    Nice bling!

I hit a lick today in a store where they check everything I find, because I have a (deserved) rep for finding the good stuff. A pair of earrings I bought look like 60s costume junk. But.. 60s Bucherer 14 and mabe pearl. Oops!

He is....I turned down a few marriage proposals until I met him at age 42. By the third date, we knew we were getting married.

How I got my engagement ring.
We were looking at rings everywhere. He wanted to get me a marquis cut, I wanted a princess cut. He was remodeling his home, and we would go to Sam's Club quite a bit. While he was shopping, I would go to the jewelry counter and try on this one carat solitaire every time. Finally, one day, he looked at me and said "You want that?" I replied "Like I'm going to say no." That was my romantic proposal, and I still torture him over it.

(LOL) It worked! A friend was talking to her husband of 40+ years on the phone one day. "You know, we really ought to get married." ....and that was it.

Every so often . The store is run by a brother and sister team. She's a shark, but every so often he misses stuff. This time he judged a book by the cover and..whoopsie.

Ask and you shall receive. The jewelry patent number on the mabe pearl earrings is 156452, putting the earliest date at about 1949, but they look more like 1962 to me. The pearls are real and the metal is double-marked for 14k, earring backs and body. The earrings aren't signed, but if the Bucherer box is the original...whoooo. The price just went up. The little earring is marked 18k, but there was only one and they totally missed that mark too. They looked on the earring back and on the inside, but not where it was clearly marked.

The cat is Danbury Mint costume. They three kitty pin they looked over for marks, but the cheap C clasp on the back means modern costume. Sticks like glue to a magnet. The roller skate is Swarovski, signed. The Chinese fish pendant is plated at best, and the blue and gold pin is unmarked gold-filled and glass. The Italian pin is Italian.

I am loving those earrings. I would keep checking for the other earring, you never know. That single earring would make a nice ring ir pendant. Score!!!

It's missing a stone, and it's a clip-on, and I only wish I'd found the other one. There were a lot of singles unfortunately. I'll leave it as and check again in case I get lucky.

A non-jewelry find. This is a Madame Alexander doll, Caroline. She is actually the Caroline Kennedy doll, her outfit is original except for the shoes. She was made in 1961-1962. Lumii_20260220_082759143.jpg

Cute. The doll has had a better time of it than the real Caroline did. (first her father and uncle, then her brother, and then her daughter...yeep.)

My birthday present to myself. Found in a thrift yesterday. Creamed spinach bakelite bangle, and a stone pendant. The chain has no clasp on it at all, and I'm not entirely sure of the stone used for the disk. It wants to be jade and is slightly translucent, but who knows.

I dunno. Could be nephrite jade.

If serpentine, but google lens thinks jade, then a hardness test might tell the difference.
