I put this question on the silver board as it’s made of silver but my interest is in the crest that’s engraved . I’ve Seen some Scottish family names came up but they don’t have a crest that looks like the one on the plate. I’ve done a lot of searching but haven’t seen anything any help greatly appreciated. Didn't I answer that already? As I remember... Ready Aye Ready with winged stirrup is a Scottish family crest. They had a family wedding in September 1905 and I thought it could have been associated with the revelries.

That’s why I stated at the start of my query I had it on the silver board, the Scottish family hasn’t got the same crest there’s a star shape at the top of their stirrup this one doesn’t have that it’s just pointed.Dont know if it makes a big difference but it’s not the same and I’m not familiar with family crests or military but thanks for taking the time all the best.

Of course, you're welcome to explore other answers if you don't believe mine is correct. I do want to point out, however, that the stirrup, the wings and the motto are the same. The overall design has minor differences. And are you sure that's meant to be a star and not a spur?

I looked at this and wondered if there was a military connection, maybe someone in the Johnstone clan who took the King's shilling? (or the Queen's, if he'd been in a while when this was made.)

It's worth looking at, just in case it was something significant.
