Glass like that blue is a called streaky glass. I make no apology for use of the word.

So far as the piece with the beveled bits is concerned: kits were
and are available of pre-cut beveled pieces in various configurations (search Stained Glass Bevel Cluster on eBay). Are the bevels very smooth and flat, or do they show a myriad of minor variations (the difference between machine and hand cut)?

Definitely came. Is that the reverse of the side in your first picture?

Your second window is definitely newer. It still has some value.

Site is wonky for me tonight. I posted the one with the comparison window and when I came back later, 6 more posts above mine appeared that weren't there when I posted originally.

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

Brad, close-up is reverse of the front (which I am guessing is front due to raised textures and raised "cabochons"... reverse has damaged area on the left...)

    Newer item... maybe CL, too...yeah...

That newer piece would be a great transom piece, or hung next to a front door.

Now I am confused ..... The very first picture in this thread is the textured side? The close up is the opposite of it? Antique glass should have more texture on one side than the other. Some new glass also has this but not the less expensive types of glass.

I tried to find some good pictures to show the qualities of antique stained glass. Didn't have much luck since there is now what they call new antique glass ... go figure :wacky:

It looks like it could also be the center of a front door itself !
Less value , but still, around here...good glass doesn't come cheaply !

This is a pice my folks bought up north at an antique store, said to be a transom from an older home....I think they coughed up over $700.

& this you've seen before .....don't bother asking the price....

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I see now that it looks like lead came, mostly (sorry for the misspelling before). Anyway, I see a couple of lines in the closeup of the design that are shinier and where solder was run along the entire line. Why would you do that with lead came? Could they be repairs?

Gila, how was it framed prior to the reframing? Just curious --

This is partly why I went with foil at first as I didn't enlarge the photo.
Repairs would be much easier with foil if the blending was done well.

If you want retail go to Craigs list. Remember a dealer has to make a profit and it will need to be 2 to 3 times the purchase price. This is damaged so high end is out. It reminds me of the things I saw in the stained glass crafters shops in the 70s and 80s. The colors are too dark for my taste.

2016-01-03 11.08.21 (800x600).jpg We bought ours at an antique shop about 15 years ago and paid $250. There used to be plain glass in the front door. Our house has been called The Anchorage since 1870 and my husband is a 31 year Navy vet, so we felt it was appropriate. If you find the right buyer, the price won't be as important, although a theme like ours isn't as common as floral.
