I picked these up in Oxfam in Chorlton a while ago. It was £5 for the lot which amazed me as they dont do bargains in there or even anything that's reasonably priced. I often think that they have run out of decimal points and am tempted to donate some.

Ive had them on ebay for about two months with hardly any interest but now someone has made me an offer. I had half forgotten that I owned them tbh but now I have dug them out of the pit, I feel like keeping them. I have so much stuff though, its difficult to display them in such a way that anyone could appreciate them.

I think they are possibly missing the cup and were trios at one point

Hard to give them up when they were such a bargain, too. Very good condition!

Yes indeed. The gilt and decor look brand new. You can get little stands for displaying cups and saucers. You've probably seen them. I might get a couple.

Very typical of the period. I used to pay about £40 per piece when I collected in the 1980s but now you would be lucky to get £5 per piece. Great pity. I don’t know if the market will ever come back.

Around here that fiver sounds about right too, more's the pity. The market for pretties has gone away, and if it's coming back it's taking the slow route.

High quality high end antique stuff still commands a good enough dollar, but the tablewares of all ages, unless very rare, are in the basement and likely to stay there until someone gets the collector itch for them. But a fiver for something so old, gah.

Seriously? Wow. It seem like antiques are out of vogue in general. I was offered £30 for the pair. Think I'll keep them but I might need to buy a spare mantel piece!
