I ask this half in jest, but I am actually going to try.

I found this vintage TV antenna in the basement of a messy estate sale.

I'm going to label it "MCM Sculpture" and put it in my space with a price of $25 on it.

Do you think anyone will buy it?

    ;):D:cool:

Upon opening this thread, I thought "is that a TV antenna?" How would it be hooked up to the TV? Then I thought it was likely purposely made by someone to resemble a TV antenna, but it's a sculpture.

Anyway, it's very cool and I think someone would want it. As far as the price, as they always say You can always come down, but rarely go up. So go for it!

The little screws on the base of the antennas had old copper wire attached to them. That would then hook up to those little screws that used to be on the back of televisions.

    Thanks! We'll see.....

Why not? Not like many of the younger generations will know any different.

Right in my Bauhaus wheelhouse. If I was inclined to add a barn to the property it'd be stuffed with this kind of thing.

That's not how it started, but that's what it is now. With any luck it's a prototype or really early one.

    AI Overview

The object in the image appears to be a vintage tabletop decorative item, featuring a wooden base marked "RESEARCH PRODUCTS" and a brass structure. Based on similar items, it is likely a vintage lamp base or a scientific-themed decorative sculpture from the mid-20th century.

Why not describe it as it actually is? Someone might actually be looking for one and be willing to pay good dolllarrrrr for it. You could of course make suggestions for alternate usage.

Two of these exist! Amazing, unless it's the same one that didn't sell for $200 and finally ended up in pottery's estate sale. Wouldn't that be a hoot.

When I used G Lens, it did show one, on the OfferUp platform, also here in NW Oregon, but I couldn't find a picture. If that's the same as what @TallCakes posted, it might be the very same one!

You might be right. People actually do buy old cathode tube TVs.
