Help please what is this?

    Found this in my parents loft today it belonged to their parents my grandparents! We are thinking it might be some kind of foot warmer or room warmer as the lid lifts off and the inner bowl with the handle lifts out the frame work and looks like you would put hot coals in it!! It's apx 18 inches high and 15 inches diameter and quite heavy! I a.jpg aa.jpg would love to know what it is when and where it's from and does it have any value?

    Any information will be gratefully appreciated!

    I found a similar one, but it’s a broken link. No reason to think it is Italian, (I have no idea) but maybe a way to search for the listing.

    Extremely Rare Nuremberg Brass Ember Pan And Wrought Iron Stand Early Metal ware. Something you dont see this early brass ember pan on original wrought iron stand something you may possibly see at a important country house but so very rare , circa 1700 or maybe earlier a fantastic piece of course it has wear and tare

    These are kinda tricky because they were used in some parts of Europe until not too long ago. (That said... I suspect there's pockets of Europe where braziers are still being used.) So may be old but not old old.
