    My friend loves poodle jewelry.

The next three items were tangled together, had to buy the lot for $65. The pin set is sterling, the cheerleader flag is Lang. The pendant is sterling, have to test for onyx, it's old. It had a long sterling rope chain with no clasp. I only wanted the pendant necklace.

I wasn't going to go to an antique show, but went late. You have to be in li e 45 minutes before opening to get the treasures, I wasn't up for it. My friend has a poodle and collects poodle jewelry. Lumii_20260308_141149485.jpg

The next three items were a tangled mess and purchased for $65, all sterling. I only wanted the black onyx? pendant. It is on a long rope-like chain that has no clasp. The cheerleader flag is marked Lang. Took me a fun hour to get them apart.

The ring is vintage, marked sterling, $30. I am posting it on the jewelry board to see if anyone can ID the maker. Carolyn Pollack is using this mold, but this is old.

Me? I don't think anything is copper.

The center bit likely is, under the enamel. It could be silver, but the Italian pieces I've found that are similar are enamel on copper.

I think it's gilded 800 silver....there is a plaque on the back, top middle petal.

90% of the inventory was sold last week - happy to reload with new pieces. Please feel free to comment on dating and style.

Louis-Philippe (Tropical Empire) armchair, c. 1830–1850. Potentially slightly later (into the 1860s), though the form is not typical of Napoleon III examples. It may be tempting to remove the dust cover to search for maker’s stamps. ($50)

Wheee. I'd have bagged the Napoleon III chair too, and you couldn't buy the upholstery fabric these days on those flame birch chairs for what the chairs brought. You really do find nice pieces.

Thanks! The advantage of having no fixed costs or overhead is that I can operate at low volumes and simply cherry-pick what I buy — I mostly do this for the enjoyment of it anyway.

One curious observation from my local market is that single chairs tend to sell much better than large sets. My impression is that many buyers today are simply looking for one distinctive side chair for a bedroom or corner of a living room, rather than a full set of 6–12 dining chairs.

It is often assumed that complete sets carry a premium, but in today’s market I’ve found the opposite to be true. High-quality single chairs tend to move faster, and they can often be bought quite cheaply because sellers assume they are worth less than full sets.

People don't have the same amount of room anymore, so large sets don't fit. I would imagine that a single chair would appeal as an accent piece or fun chair for a home office, etc. Nice stuff!

Singles and pairs. Large sets are a problem. I've seen that too, here. Full dining room suites and large tables are bait for the FREE pile at the end of a sale.

Hutches and dining room sets are in abundance here. I live in an old house with small rooms. We don't even have a dining room. The furniture is beautiful, though.

I was having a bad day yesterday, to the point of tears, and I happened to be near one of my antique malls, so I figured I'd stop in and walk around to calm down. I found this on my second go round. It's amazingly sparkly, which I couldn't capture, and I need to have it sized, but I couldn't leave without it. 14k and diamonds.
