This was a very unexpected find today at a Habitat for Humanity ReStore; a tiny, perfect set of Second World War Canadian army battledress including blouse, trousers and puttees. It looks like it would fit a 3 or 4 year old, and is obviously made from the real thing. Even the markings inside are correct for a tank crewman with the Three Rivers Regiment. I’m hoping to track down exactly who this was, through the service number written inside the blouse.
The style appears to be the "Battle Dress" used from about 1940 to 1949. https://www.canadiansoldiers.com/un...ehrk1wsaF-NvXhtIoH_aem_NWdBuwgZmUtd4lLzHGYOMA

According to this website - https://www.canadiansoldiers.com/procedures/regimentalnumber.htm - the "D" in the service number would indicate that the original soldier enlisted in Quebec. Tracking down an individual Regimental Series Number (service number) may be more difficult due to governmental privacy issues. https://www.canada.ca/en/library-ar...h-help/military-history/second-world-war.html
Interesting that it even has the Canadian War Department ownership marks, the C and broad arrow mark. perhaps made for the son of a high ranking officer? I look forward to hearing more about this item. Great find!
I agree that the outfit does not look like a homemade version, but actually produced by a military supplier. Here is a 10 year old bugler in the Canadian militia, c.1900 - https://qmsmilitaria.com/shop.php?code=63521 And another child's uniform - https://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/57585-vintage-childs-military-uniform
Thanks. I’ve also seen uniforms for nine or ten-year-old kids, but this one is tiny, for a three or four-year-old. Sure wish I had a period photo of a child wearing it!
