I got these Friday at a thrift store (+ 2 small oil on board ducks by Dr. Edgar Burke both dated 1943!)
My question is are these real or prints?

The Gretchen Van Atta Lona I'm pretty sure is real, done with colored pencils - what do I call it (is it a painting? Or a drawing?)

The Frank Vining Smith I am hoping is a painting because its worth a lot if so!
I'm hopeful because the prints by him seem to be all ships at sea, but the close up looks worrisome - could it be from the canvas it's on?

PS , pics taken outside in natural light, no flashes.

    Thank you for any help/thoughts!

The Frank Vining Smith does appear to be a print. The Gretchen Van Atta Lono would be a drawing.

I see Van Atta Lono - possibly a married name. It wouldn't be unusual here.
