This glass group and the porcelain group above it appear to me to be jewelry caskets or trinket boxes rather than inkwells.

I don't know how I messed up the above response, I tried to fix it but couldn't. Hope you can decipher my message.

Let me try to decipher your message. You mean I should pass the inkwell and pick all the glass gaskets, correct?
Any idea of the maker or age of the glass gaskets?

Re. the glass caskets. They appear to me to be of the Victorian era and many are attributed to Moser but without a signature or a Moser catalog depicting the same size, shape, and design I would be reluctant to make that assumption. Condition is paramount...are the hinges intact, do the lids fit snugly, is there any loss of paint, any cracks or nicks to the glass?

Re. the inkwells, I was attempting to say that I would be attracted to the more ornate examples with brass/bronze/gilt fittings on the porcelain or ceramic bases as well as the one on the right-hand side, back row. That is purely my personal opinion though and my untrained eye may be overlooking one that has far greater value with a simpler design.

Good Luck at the sale, someone has assembled a lovely collection of items for your bidding pleasure.

I'm with Sandra. First photo right hand side at the back and that plate with a square inkwell in the middle. That is style and simplicity at its best. You need to get a look underneath for marks before bidding blindly.

I don't know but the square plate inkwell looks similar to a Meissen dragon pattern, though perhaps more simple, so you might research that. I also rather like the one with French on it but have no idea of what it is or the value, it just looks like something I might like.

I need to verify which one you are talking about, the one with octagonal or circle edges?

There's nothing here that doesn't look interesting, but hard to tell how complete they are.

The higher one of those conical guys looks like maybe cut to clear sides.

Is there a name for these more complicated pieces? "Inkwell" doesn't quite cut it in searches.
