According to google lens this seems to be a Victorian hand carved mahogany footstool. Does that seem right to y’all? All I know is it looks old and I like it!

My grandmother had one like this but in a burgundy color.

Pic 3 clearly shows bandsaw frame, for whatever that's worth. My grandparents had one similar, an' it was ours when we visited, as children.

My grandparents also had one, with slightly more detail in the carving but the same Rococo-inspired design. It was new when they bought it, which I remember, so it must have been in the 60s.
They are very handy to have around, especially for a very petite person like my grandmother.

French in style but possibly/probably made elsewhere. I doubt any older than the 50s and could be a decade or two newer. A lot of French style furniture came out of Italy in this time period.

Thanks everyone! I never know with google lens. I know absolutely nothing about furniture! Now I feel ok about using it to sit on.

I wouldn't be awfully surprised if Grandma bought the needlepoint kit for the top with the rose finished, and then she picked the yellow yarn herself. Burgundy was the common color. They sold a ton of chair seat kits for the "Lady of the house" to stitch while listening to the TV or radio and this looks like those.

1960s I'd think when needlepoint was all the rage.

The colors are very 60’s and 70’s as well.
