More arts and crafts - Copper box

I picked this up today. Not sure if you can truly call it arts and crafts but it all looks hand made. Its about 17cm long

There appears to be some hand scribed initials on the underside.

 

Think this one more modernist, so mid-century. What you are calling initials look more incidental than purposeful to me.

 

Seconded. I don't see a speck of Deco on it.

 

Okey dokes. Thanks Brad. The handle appears to have been created from copper pipe with a pipe cutter. So quite possibly a home made project.

 

I'd think a crafting class, or High School metal shop. The copper would fit, copper was used for classes and I think it's a cigarette box.

 

I thought cigarette box right away. Not sure why that liner was put in. Maybe repurposed as a jewelry box. 1950s

 

A ciggie box generally had a wooden liner. If this was a craft or metal shop piece, there may not have been wood about to use. So...felt.
