It's long, graduated, and knotted, no clasp. Thanks.

Looks orange...is that an accurate color image?
    Nice pieces!

I was wondering the same. If it is, it is a mix of very intensely coloured butterscotch amber beads and cognac amber beads.

It is a bit overcast today, here it is in outdoor light. Any clue as to age or origin?

It looks to me as butterscotch and cognac mixture (as Any said). A lot of these were made and sold in USSR (made mainly in the Baltic countries and Kaliningrad, sold throughout USSR), probably also exported to Western Europe/USA (for that I am not sure). But USSR amber was in most cases marked. For me without any hallmark it would be very difficult to judge place and age of origin. Maybe the experts here could say.

Thanks, that gives a much better impression. Indeed butterscotch and cognac.
It looks like Baltic amber to me, period probably from 1970 - 1990. The period is not very distinct or important for these pebble necklaces.
Yes a lot of Baltic amber was exported from the USSR to Western Europe and probably also to the US. The USSR needed so-called hard currencies from Western countries.
But other Baltic countries also exported these pebble necklaces, my mother had one from Denmark.

I'd say Baltic amber too. The stringing looks like something I'd do, and have done, when I find a broken one. It's not difficult, just tedious. (unless you need reading glasses; then it's a royal pain. )
