Featured another unmarked Minton's plaque

8 3/4 diameter. We were talking about Minton's the other day how to ID unmarked stuff or if any of it is unmarked at all. This plaque is said to be Minton's based on an insurance appraisal. From a recent auction..

 

Really nice. I like it. But they look like Cranes to me......

I think that the appraisal and the mention of provenance gives the reason why these are Minton. That, and the art style and vibrant blue look Minton to me. One plate is fish and one plate is birds. The frames are very interesting to me and suggest early 20th c --20teens maybe. At that time Minton had an art line (Astra ware IIRC) and also did some interesting secessionist designed pottery.

Perhaps they were basing the Minton attribution on the 2001 auction mentioned on the appraisal sheet -- that auction may have listed it as Minton. (Maybe that's what you meant....)
