Makanudo There is no such thing as simple.Simple is hard.

It looks like recent reproduction of 18th century chest of drawers. I would appreciate your input.
    Thanks!

I don't think it really matches any historical style. At least nothing that I am aware of. Might use neoclassical as a descriptor. Without seeing construction details, would say 70s or later.

Big, clunky furniture like this is not real popular right now. Especially since it looks like a 70-80s piece to me as well. If you're thinking of buying it for yourself and it fits in your house, don't pay a lot. If you're considering resale, don't buy it.

If I had a villa in Istria, I'd give it a place there if the price was right.

1970s " faux" Victorian sounds about right , but that being said , its a rather interesting piece . Id buy it if I had the room . :)

LOL! This is one of those things that gives me a major idiosyncratic botheration. I would have to reverse the top middle swoopy stuff with the bottom middle swoopy stuff. (Sorry, Brad. i know 'swoopy' is hardly the correct adjective!)

LOL! ..... I was thinking the same thing! The order of the drawers look like they need to be changed somehow to make this look better (assuming they are the same size).

This would actually be a great candidate for paint. It would sell pretty easily here if painted off-white with a shabby paint treatment. It is large so it is the kind of thing you would want to move fast so that it doesn't take up too much valuable real estate if that is an issue.

I agree about the paint; this is one of the few cases where it's a good idea. It would make a great media console. You could get creative with the colors too, if it fits with wherever you're putting it.

I think you're right. I hadn't noticed until you mentioned it!

It is too weird to be faux anything I guess.
Structure reminds me of a building, secession style

I am not into resale(yet), but I was offered this and my first thought was to buy it and move it swiftly.
You have to consider that market here for anything and everything is different than in North america and western europe.
Needs are different and tastes are different.
Furniture, I think is the main example (we don't have Ikea , yet):)
