    Wow, nice chunk of ruby. The colour is typical of Burmese rubies, the most sought after in the world.

    Looks like a body part though.:nurse:

    If I had seen this ruby "in the wild", I would have no idea what it was and probably would have avoided touching it. It really looks gross. I'd like to see how it would be cut and of course, the finished product.

    It looks more like rotting meat than rotting vegetation, but whoever found this is in for a nice payday. Even if it's just specimen grade, clarity-wise, it's a home run.

    You would imagine that it would lose a fair bit of mass. A fair amount of it is crude and would likely have flaws. Still, it would make a fantastic blingy ring.

    The article Davey linked said it's of pretty high quality. Hard to see in the pictures.

    "The ruby is described as having a purplish-red hue with yellowish undertones, along with a high-quality colour grade, moderate transparency and a highly reflective surface."
