Had fun at the antique show. More pics to come, but this was $5, and I don't have a clue about it. Posted on the jewelry board with more info and questions.

This place had broken peuces all over. There were telling people everything was sterling, but it wasn't, and they didn't care.

Wait, where was your Lums at? Was that a chain?

indeed , a chain !.......... but....at one point the NY location became independent !!

...because we in Montreal get TV stations from Burlington Vt , & Plattsburgh Ny , we always saw Lums commercials ..

    .
The popular Lum's Family Restaurant in Plattsburgh, NY, permanently closed its doors in September 2007after 30 years in business. Located on Cornelia Street (State Route 3)
The establishment was famously beloved by locals and cross-border travelers from Montreal for its comforting, nostalgic diner atmosphere and generous salad bar

How I miss going over the border at will , to Plattsburgh , Burlington , Winooski , upper NY state...., lake Champlain .......... Boston.....

My wife is a Canadian since 1990.... but she's from Chile......and we're now terrified of crossing the border..........

    Can u guess why !

    eagles Amadio small.jpg
Found at a yard sale, filthy condition. Had been in a falling down shed for at least 30 years. As a bit of an oil painter many years ago, I was able to clean and restore to almost original. Oil on canvas circa 1980. Artist is W. Amadio, a prolific painter of eagles and the North Western states and Alaskan landscapes. there is nothing of note on the rear.

I've run into similar, but the prices charged were for costume. I've had people left and right try to sell me Alpaca as silver. No. Nope. Not. They usually won't listen and want what they want. They kept on wanting it, because they weren't getting it from me.

I was at a flea market years ago at an antique mall and a lady was selling jewelry. I picked up a Mexican green mask bracelet, you could see the COPPER showing through the silver metal. It said Hecho in Mexico. The lady kept telling me it was sterling and wanted $30. I told her she was incorrect and explained why. She actually came up to me at another table to tell me one of the dealers in the mall verified it was sterling and that she would sell it in her booth for $60 easily.
She had the bracelet in her hand so I said "Then why didn't the dealer buy it from you?" She stomped away.

    ( & yes , the roast beef sandwich........:hungry::hungry::hungry::hungry::hungry:....:woot:.)

Here's mine...... just because I admire this site for its members who back up , what they have to say !!

and to seal the deal.....Lums offered this at every table to pass the time....& I thought it was so cool....and finally mastered it after bringing it home.
Fun Fact..... the ones they offered for purchase , had newer pegs. What you see here is the older version, that I switched up and placed the newer one on the table before leaving.:woot::woot::woot:

Because he wasn't that stupid. Either she was, or she was pulling something. No way to be sure.
