Any Help With These Lovely Vintage Italian Filigree Items?

Discussion in 'Pottery, Glass, and Porcelain' started by Anthony Cultreri, May 24, 2026.

  1. Hi, and thank you for your help! I have acquired these two very beautiful Italian porcelain antiques that feature a rich glaze, gold highlights, and filigree work. They are both marked ”Italy”. The footed dish has three claw feet and measures about 13" across and 4” tall. The vase measures 10" tall. Any information as to era, maker, or value would be greatly appreciated. I thank you so much!

Here's the same form, also just marked Italy.

Just wondering, you call it filigree, is that the right term? I am not an expert or even a collector, but I would call it ajour.

    Just so people can see:

Just remembered, another term for ajour, used in Asian ceramics, is 'reticulated'.

    Or "pierced"?

Pierced is probably used as well, although I associate that with a harder material, not soft clay.

Pierced if you're being non-fancy, reticulated if you're being fancy. :D What is the glaze/decoration supposed to look like? Stone/granite?
