    Dated 12/1201, is that 1901 or 2001?

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

Well, I know ZIP about silver. But I checked the "100 most popular baby names" for boys in 1901 and 2001... Ellis wasn't on either. Pfft. :hilarious:

It would have to be December 12th, 2001

Depending on the country it could be 12th December 1901

That was also the date when Marconi succeeds in sending the first radio transmission across the Atlantic Ocean.
The message–simply the Morse-code signal for the letter “s”–traveled more than 2,000 miles from Poldhu in Cornwall, England, to Newfoundland, Canada.

I wish that Kardinalisimo had shown (or written) what the first ("given") name is before the "Ellis" (middle given name).

GaleriaGila, I don't know if you have ever lived in "the South" (more specifically any of "the South" which had states in the original thirteen colonies) but . . .

In my neck of the woods it is (almost) a standard practice in a certain social class for at least one child (boy or girl) in a family to have as a "middle" name his/her mother's maiden (sur)name (and no it is not hyphenated with the last name). ;)

By the way, it shows the time of birth 1:24 PM . I doubt they did that in 1901? Full name is Brighton Ellis Moore.

The mark, as Terry said, is very important in the decision about which XX01 it is.

Cup is not older than 1956 and obviously even newer than that.

    So 2001 it is then.
They waited less than 15 years to get rid of it, or it was stolen ?

Been wondering the same myself, Davey. Not about the stolen thing, but whether there is a sad story behind it.

5 lb. 5 oz. is preemie size, isn't it? Maybe he didn't survive and they couldn't bear to keep it.

Lots of middle names are either the mother's maiden name or an ancestor's last name.

It's small, but not so small that it would preclude survival. Unless there were other issues, of course.
