I see so many art collections at flea markets. Most belong there. But, then there are others that are actually very good. I feel bad for these artists that should be known, and are so unknown, that most of their art is thrown on the ground to be picked through by people who want it for a dollar, so they can sell it for two.

Today I found a person selling a beautiful collection of art that I had to leave most because I didn't have enough to buy them. These were my three favorites.

This one I found at an antique store for $20. They sold it as a print. When I removed it from the frame to clean the glass, it's an original watercolor by Al Narizzano. This is gorgeous. I was happy with it being a print. I'm thrilled it's original. The really sad part is, his work is great, and people can't give it away on ebay.

It makes me wonder why some artists who have very little talent are known the world round, and others who do beautiful work are stuck in flea markets and thrift stores.

That seems to be everyone's favorite. It's the first one I saw. I have a thing for the moon. I've been a night owl for over 60 years.

I find these artists usually after they've died. Though Naoto Hattori is still rocking. His work is AMAZING.

    I don't own this, I wish I did. It's 3" x 4"[IMG]
This is Ed Binkley, he works in pencils. I only own prints of his.

When my dad was in the hospital in Fla and I was here in NY, I would look out my window and see the moon and think, he is seeing the moon as well

I look at moon pictures like these sometimes and hear Bruno Mars' Talking To The Moon.

My point exactly. I can't stand Bieber. 99.99% of modern music is awful. Yet chances are excellent Bieber will be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame before many of the excellent musicians who sold out stadiums before the HOF opened.
That's sweet and so true. We're all closer than we think, even when we're thousands of miles apart.
I can honestly say, I don't think I've ever heard a full Bruno Mars song.
From what I've been told, major galleries are like the radio stations of old. Without their backing you go nowhere. So, it's a few that decide what the general public should appreciate. Even though the internet has opened the field to everyone, people of my age or even possibly a little younger, don't utilize it the way they should. If all four of the pieces I posted were in an actual gallery, they'd have commanded a decent price for each. Especially the first one. That's getting a mat and frame. The watercolor is already hung with 5 Dali prints, and it fits in perfectly.

When I saw Marote's post I was thinking that's Garfunkel. But, then I thought, maybe it's some hoity toity art dealer or film critic. I didn't get it till Debora's post. ART...

    That's great. I'm such a dumbass.

Bieber :(someone needs to tell him that he needs to wear adult clothing now. Stop with the droopy pants.
He always looks miserable to me. I do believe something is wrong with him mentally

A few days ago on PBS they showed the concert with Simon and Garfunkel in NY

Koch was the mayor back then.

If it was the Central Park concert, I was there. After the show, I took the train back to LI and went to see Johnny Thunders at the Long Beach club Malibu. Didn't miss a minute. Great night.

Koch came out at a U2 concert (I think at the Pier) and he was booed off stage.

So cool to be at that concert. My brother had a band for a while. They practiced one of the songs from Simon and Garfunkel over and over and over and each time they started to play, they got to the same part and someone messed up. Not destined for glory at all.

I just remember Koch saying How Am I Doing as he walked the streets.
