    my husband loves this, he grew up not far from it. I agree @Debora this deserves a loving & appreciative home.

    Had to look up where the Brooklyn Naval Yard was located. Here's an early (1918) aerial photograph. Funny to think that... That Daguerreotype looks so olde tyme-y (top hats!) but at the time those men were creating cutting edge technology.

    I've been getting a lot of emails lately from the auction house that is selling the daguerreotype (Fleischer's Auctions). They must have a large mailing list. I've rarely bid on online auctions. The daguerreotype should do well!

    A loving and well-heeled home, and especially nice if a public museum got it -Center For Brooklyn History or Brooklyn Historical Society might be nice.
